Job Title: Driver 

Starting: ASAP 

Duration: 12 weeks – potential to be more long term 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm  

Location: Bishop Stortford, Essex  

Band: 3 

Pay:  £12.50 - £13.00ph PAYE inclusive of holiday pay £13.50 - £14.50ph Umbrella per hour

All rates are depending on skill, experience and pay type

 Job Summary: 

  • Van driver who will be delivering and cleaning community equipment.
  • To effectively contribute to achieving the overall aims & objectives of the service, namely the prompt and efficient delivery, monitoring, servicing and collection of items of equipment.
  • To accurately account for stock received, issued, stored, returned & condemned.
  • To clean, inspect, service/maintain, re-package, label and safely store previously issued items maximising recycling the efficiencies achieved by the service.
  • To ensure the correct administrative & legislative policies, procedures and systems are fully met.

 

 

Duties:

  • To receive, unpack, count and label products delivered to the unit. 
  • Indicating on delivery/consignment notes whether items are damaged, missing or incorrect.
  • Reserving or isolating stock when required. 
  • To clean soiled equipment by hand and/or using an Aqua-phase to the standards required by the service, utilising Personal Protective Equipment which will be provided.
  • To safely handle, move and store items of equipment, boxes/cartons in full compliance with Trust Manual Handling Policy, Health & Safety Legislation and other relevant policies/procedures.
  • To record stock deliveries, equipment returns, condemnation and stock take sheets/notes and other administrative records as required. 
  • After appropriate instruction/training, to carry out simple maintenance and servicing of products using hand/power tools where required. Including inspecting items of equipment to ensure they are safe for re-issue.
  • After appropriate instruction/training, to deliver/collect and fit/remove items of Equipment.
  • To undertake the picking/selection, loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • To comply with fire, security, health and safety legislation/procedures within the areas of responsibility of the post. 
  • To drive a transit delivery van, carry out daily van checks and keep the van clean.
  • To provide courteous, professional and friendly service to service users, their carers and any professionals associated with the service.
  • To actively participate in team meetings, training/development opportunities, promotional events as required.
  • To liaise professionally and appropriately with all other members of West Essex Equipment Service, including office staff, contractors, suppliers, Technicians and Management.

 

Essential

  • British driving license.
