Family Support Worker
JOB SUMMARY
To provide a flexible support service to families with children in need in keeping with the assessed Care Plan and this will include some evening/weekend work.

Pay Rates: Up to £15.96 per hour Umbrella or £14.41 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To assist Social Workers in assessing the needs to children, young people and families in accordance with Legislation, Policy and Procedure.
- To assist Social Workers in the implementation of Child Care Plans.
- To undertake direct work with children and young people.
- To facilitate supervised Family Time / contact arrangements. This will include driving duties.
- To support parents, children and young people in developing confidence and self-esteem.
- To contribute to parenting programmes (individual and group work).
- To maintain individual caseloads and provide reports and information as required including giving evidence in Court.
- To maintain appropriate records.
- To participate in supervision, peer support groups and appropriate training and developments.
- To participate in Team Meetings and contribute to the development of the Team.
- To liaise with other agencies in multi-disciplinary work appropriate to individual cases.
- To highlight concerns/untoward events regarding children and young people in keeping with Trust Policies and Procedures.
- To act in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures in all matters.
- To maintain a high degree of confidentiality/discretion.
- Further experience working with parents/ children in a formal paid setting
- Awareness of Family Support Services
Skills and Experience
- Currently hold or be eligible for immediate registration with the NISCC on the Social Care part of the register
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise own workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of the post in full which will include the writing / compilation of reports.
